CHILDREN'S VILLAGE IN MKENGE, MKURANGA COUNTY, TANZANIA.
In March 2021, we purchased a 4ha plot of land in Mkenge, 70km south of Dar es Salaam. There we would like to build a children's village for orphans and street children.
In Tanzania many children are without supervision all day long, they suffer from hunger, others from violence, they are neglected and rejected and still others die. Strangers take advantage of these opportunities and offer them gifts, dazzle them and pretend to help them, only to exploit their innocence afterwards. Newborn babies die because their mothers hide them in the bush or in the dustbin. What makes a child is its innocence and its vulnerability. That is why children need special protection.
We stand up for children so that they do not become victims of these unspeakable, emotional and discriminatory injustices. We protect these children by giving them a safe and loving home so that they can experience a happy childhood.
To protect these children we rely on your help.
IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS PROJECT INDEPENDENT IN THE LONG TERM, WE RELIED ON SELF-SUFFICIENCY.
We are planning a small farm with chickens and cows, and a vegetable garden.
We will generate electricity through solar panels.
We will get drinkable water through a deep well.
Due to the content-related work and the positive development of the last few years, the Waisenkinder Tansania e.V. project is already an innovative, meaningful and necessary project for traumatised children in Tanzania.
